Firefox 55.02+build 1-0 crashes will not open
Can't open Firefox after upgrade of Sept 13, 2017 Ubuntu 16.4 No safe mode, nothing. Here is what I get from the Terminal window when trying to open Firefox and also a safe mode. Have uninstalled FF and reinstalled still will not work.
I'm self taught so not sure what to do next. Hoping it is just some kind of bug. Chrome is running fine. Thanks for any ideas.
ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 10413
ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child
ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal...
Bus error (core dumped)
Here is what I get when firefox wants to send a msg about a crash report. Hope you guys can help.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
I can't get to an address bar because I can't open FF even in safe mode. It just gives me a crash report box whenever I click on it. Thanks

All was fixed Sept. 14. FF send a fresh version of 55.0.2 with out the extra build1-0. Had to go in & redo preferences just like a new install but all is well, bookmarks were a-OK. Can't figure out how to delete the above post so added this note. Thanks
