I have six tabs open, all six are set to viable website addresses. I close Firefox. I open Firefox. There are six tabs, BUT only the Left-Most tab still points to the Viable website. Of the other five tabs, only the most-recently used tab still points to a viable website. The other four tabs are still there. BUT, there's NO content, just empty tabs. It does not matter whether I was on the 3rd tab, the 6th tab or which tab I was using last before I shut down Firefox. ONLY that tab and the tab on the far-left retain the websites that they were on. The other four are blank when Firefox reopens. I have already TRIED to Refresh Firefox, and that did not fix it. I also double-checked prefs.js to make sure the tabcount was "3", per your online suggestions.

P.S. This ONLY started with the most-recent update for Firefox to version 55.0 (32-bit). I have a 64-bit machine, runnint Windows 10.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder that stores session data. When sessionstore.js is deleted you lose pinned tabs and open tabs and you will have to recreate them, so if necessary make a note or bookmark them.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Your first response, to me, implies that every time I close Firefox, my sessionstore.js file is deleted. If THAT'S the case, with the most recent version of Firefox, it most certainly is NOT a feature!! Thss problem originated with version 55.0. It is STILL there in 55.0.1. The tabs' CONTENT, but not the tabs themselves, ALL disappear but the left-most and the most-recently used. The other tabs are blank.

I have Firefox open right now, and In my Profile (under my Roaming folder), there is NO sessionstore.js file in any location. There IS a sesson-store-backups folder, but no sessionstore.js file in there, either. Inside the sessionstore-backups folder, there's a previous.js and a restore.js, but they obviously do NOT work.

I just did a search in ALL of my C: drive. There is NO sessionstore.js file anywhere.

Firefox uses sessionstore.js in the profile folder to store session data. Sessionstore.js is only present when Firefox is closed. The sessionstore.js file is created from recovery.js when you close Firefox and is removed and copied to previous.js when you start Firefox to make is possible to restore the session at any time.

Well, thank you. It does show up when I close Firefox. Unfortunately, it saves tabs, but only preserves the content of the left-most and the most-recently used tabs. The other tabs are blank.
