Hi, I know Flash player is dated by today's standards and has being mostly replaced by HTML5 video, but there are some sites that still use flash and I'm unable to view them properly.

I've being fighting this issue for ages but haven't been able to find a solution. I have the firefox version of flash installed (latest) and my firefox is 53.0.2. The problem is that the flash plugin doesn't show up in the plugins for firefox or extensions, and no flash will even show up or load in web pages.

I found something using CCleaner's web browser plugin viewer and saw that an old version of flash was still enabled "Shockwave Flash 20.0.0.306" and I figured that might be the issue. So I went to its install directory "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\" and deleted it completely as well as disabling it using ccleaners option, I then uninstalled/reinstalled the latest flash version but it still wouldn't work or show up in firefox's plugin viewer and this old version of flash was still showing up in ccleaners plugin viewer but as disabled.

If anyone can please help me fix this frustrating problem I would really appreciate it. If you need any more information that might help with fixing it just ask.

Edit: To clear it up a bit, I found firefox was using an old version of flash by using ccleaners plugin viewer, but that version of flash was not installed on my system any more, yet it was still showing up in the viewer. The only version of flash installed now is latest 25 build.

Windows 10 64bit, firefox 32 bit, FP 25 for FF NPAPI.

Hi, I can see you have only (apparently) Flash v25, but since something is obviously wrong, try uninstalling -

Uninstall Flash Player.

When it is uninstalled, if possible, close Firefox and download using another browser -

Install Flash Player - take care to deselect any optional offers!

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times and it didnt fix the issue and doesnt explain why ccleaner was showing flash 20 version as enabled as a firefox plugin (which i know disabled). Maybe its a registry or firefox profile issue?

I dont have the knowledge to know where to look though.

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
