Copy bookmarks favicons (icons) to other computer

more options

I copied my bookmarks from backup to other computer, however in bookmarks menu bookmarks are w/out icons (json and I think plain html) does not store pictures. How to add icons back? I suppose copying whole system account folder would work, but please tell maybe one database or subfolder would be enough.

Or maybe it's possible to auto-update all icons in bookmarks menu on new computer?

Thank you!

Chosen solution

Exporting bookmarks in HTML format will contain the favicons.

The JSON bookmarkbackup files don't have the favicons.

You could try this extension for restoring favicons - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/favicon-restorer/ - but recent user reviews indicate there may be a problem with it in Firefox 44 or 45 and later versions. See if it works for you, and if it does leave a review on the download page.
