I had my wife's email pinned to the taskbar, she somehow apparently deleted it, when i look in the application file it says it's still there but will not open I truly think it's deleted. She doesn't have clue what she touched. Please help can I just download a new version and if so will it pick up all her old emails.

Hello,

I'm glad you reached out to us for help! Unfortunately, I am unsure what you mean by "email pinned to the taskbar". Are you referring to the bar at the bottom that is a part of Windows? I would also need to know what product you are seeking help with (Firefox, Thunderbird), in order to be able to help you effectively.

Cheers! Amiral7224

Thank you for getting back to me. Yes I had a shortcut for her at the bottom. Here is the confusing part, when I go to C; drive it shows all the programs are there for Thunderbird but yet when you click on it Thunderbird will not open. I can then switch over to my screens and my Thunderbird works just fine. If i didn't mention there are 2 of us on this computer each with our own separate log ons and programs, but I am the administrator.

You have two different Thunderbird -profiles each in its own space located at: "C:\users\"windows username" \appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles" The Thunderbird part under C:\programs.... is the program not any data. That is accessible for both of you. Only the logged in user can access his/hers data. Your shortcut-key is most certain located in the users desktop, if you haven't put it in C:\Users\Public\Desktop

You should as administrator be able to access her user-space and her Thunderbird-profile. Make safety-copy of it Using her login open Thunderbird. If the mails are missing, Install add-on RecoverDeletedMessages DO NOT COMPACT BEFORE running this add-on.

The outcome very much depends on how the account was set up, if its IMAP or POP3.

We were able to access her emails thru Chrome, then to Windstream.net here account popped up and she is able to see here emails and respond to them. I will try some of your suggestions but in her desktop there is not Thunderbird either the original or shortcuts thats why i think she somehow deleted them. didn't think that was possible

Did I missunderstand? Do you just want to add a shortcut to her taskbar? In that case: log in as her !! make a shortcut on her desktop for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" Don't forget the " " Move this icon to her Taskbar.
