How can I resize the viewport in Firefox Developer edition?

For years I've used Chris Pederick's 'Web Developer' extension to do many things, particularly to resize my Firefox window (or viewport) to some preset dimension. I'm now trying out Firefox Developer Edition, and I find that although I can resize the WINDOW using the 'Resize' function of 'Web Developer', if I set it to resize the Viewport, nothing happens (i.e. the window remains the currnt size).

Is there a solution for this, please?

Regards,

Tim Dawson

I actually do not know, however when looking at the support site for the add on it was also not mentioned in the FAQs/Issues page of the site. However if you scroll all the way to the bottom of this page you can email the developer.

Asking the Add-on developer is a possibility, of course, but as this change has come about between editions of Firefox I thought it more probable that it was an oversight rather than an improvement, and might be rectified fairly simply. I guess time will tell.

Note that Firefox has a Responsive Design View mode built-in as part of the developer tools to be able to simulate various screen layouts.

Yes, thank you for reminding me. I have used that feature, and will do so again if no other solution offers. I still have a sneaking preference for resizing the whole window/viewport. Apart from anything else it makes for more room on the screen.
