Issue iOS update:why firefox browser-supported site www.goenkaweb.com :1st link:University not opening on firefox for iOS?but on firefox for android & windows?
Sir/ Mam,
1. Please tell me that how does everything on my college website works only on firefox and does not work on any other general browser?www.goenkaweb.com : GD Goenka University - 1st Link. ..... the link in short ( http://182.71.2.52:8084/university/ )
2. This website link works on the firefox for Windows and works on the firefox for android properly.
On downloading your app from the App store in iOS, when I open my above mentioned website, it shows an unexpected message of refusal saying that this website ERP link only works on Mozilla Firefox and that this browser (Mozilla Firefox) is an unsupported browser - sending you a snapshot.
3. Please check on your other firefox browsers whether this website works on any of them - New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Canada - so that I can download it from that country's app store.
4. Will you or can you launch an update of your firefox browser for ANY of the above country App stores' in which my above mentioned website link works, soon?
5.Please tell me whether do you or will you have a Seamonkey browser for android or iOS or any other mobile OS.
Again, Please tell me the exact date when you will launch firefox update on iOS for iPhones as soon as possible.
This is very important for me and very urgent for me.
Please reply numberwise.
Please reply with 5 answers numberwise for the above 5 questions respectively.
Thanking you in advance,
Awaiting your earnest and generous reply,

I think that message is generated by the website, probably based on the "user agent" information provided by Firefox. You can compare the ways different versions of Firefox identify themselves to websites. For example:
- Firefox on Windows 7:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:42.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0
- Firefox on Android (phone):
Mozilla/5.0 (Android 6.0; Mobile; rv:42.0) Gecko/42.0 Firefox/42.0
- Firefox on iOS (tablet):
Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 9_1 like MacOS X) AppleWebKit/601.1.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) FxiOS/1.1 Mobile/13B143 Safari/601.1.46
The most obvious difference is that Firefox for iOS doesn't use the word "Firefox" in its user agent string, instead using "FxiOS". So I suspect that is the reason the site will not allow it.
As an experiment, I set my Windows Firefox to identify itself as Fire-fox instead of Firefox and now I get the same rejection message you do (see attached screen shots). So it is unlikely that any version of Firefox for iOS will be accepted by the site.
To address your questions:
1. That is how the site is designed 2. Because the browser does not identify itself as Firefox 3. Most likely, all versions of Firefox for iOS will have the same issue 4. See #3 5. For information about SeaMonkey, you can visit this site: http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ -- I don't think a mobile version is planned, but I haven't researched it in detail
