Folks:

Stopped working with FreeBSD Firefox approx 5 years ago. Recently needed to use the machine that this version of Firefox is currently resident on. Checked the Preferences->Advanced->Update and the updates that are supposedly automatic when "About Mozilla" dialog box is activated are not working. I recently activated the dialog box and nothing has happened. Under Upgrade history the field is blank. I do not know whether the original version of Firefox 3.0.5 was downloaded from the web or loaded via CD but I suspect "the web".

Keep in mind I am a retired engineer who always had the benefit of IT folks on my jobs until now. I have picked up Networking, Linux/Unix and programming using various script languages and C/C++ but it has been a awhile. To get this machine up and running has been a task so far and this is one of my last hurdles. I appreciate any stuff you folks can come up with to help me tackle this problem.

This forum entry was composed on a different Windows 7 version of Firefox/Mozilla Thanks Dick

Does http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/handbook/desktop-browsers.html help? You may have to upgrade to a new version of FreeBSD
