How to move all mail to Local Folders?
In my Thunderbird I have an IMAP account which is not existing any longer on the remote mail server. As all the mail is on my local drive I can open it and browse. What I want is to move all the mail to Local Folders and get rid of the old IMAP acount. It is really annoying that it still tries to connect to the remote server all the time when I open it and browse mail.
How can I do that? When I try to drag and drop a few messages, Thunderbird tries to delete them from the remote server, which of course fails as the remote account does not exist any longer, and hence nothing is moved. I also searched if there is an option to take account offline, but found nothing.
Chosen solution
Try it in 'offline' mode. click on two blue screen icon in bottom left corner of Status Bar to toggle to offline which will show two black screen icon.
If this does not work try this addon to import the emails into Local folders.
right click on Local Folders > ImportExporttool > Import mbox file or in Local Folders create a folder of same name right click on created folder > ImportExporttool > import messages

Copy them.
Select, then right-click|Copy To
Thanks Zenos, but when I try to do that it just tries to connect to remote server: "Sending login information" is visible in the status bar. When it fails to connect, it asks if I want to retry, cancel or enter new password. Nothing gets copied to Local Folders! I am using version 31.0.

Toad-Hall, the two blue screen icon got it done! Thank you very much!
