When I click on a link that is supposed to take me to "TED.com/conversations/all/added", I am redirected to "http://www.ted.com/error.php"

This only happens on my current computer. It does not happen on other computers. The IT people at TED said that this is not happening as a result of anything on their end and suggested that it was a browser problem. I changed browsers and the link worked again. I deleted the old Firefox (but saving my preferences) and installed an updated version. I am still blocked from going to this site.

Is there something that I can do to force acceptance of the link? Am I going to have to lose all of my preferences, saved bookmarks, etc in order to fix this? Is there another way?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Note that the link has ad (added) in the URL, so make sure that you do not have ad-blocking filters (false positive) that get triggered by such a link.
