Your system installed an add-on called "SPECIAL SAVINGS" without my authorization or request. There is no DELETE or DISABLE button. I want this thing gone.

As I have been using Firefox for years, I hope that my only option to get rid of this ILLEGAL SALES TOOL is not the deletion of Firefox from all of the computers in our company. However, if that is the only method of removing this thing, I WILL!

While it is an annoyance to force all of our people to learn a new browser, PUSH SALES ADD-ON's which were NOT REQUESTED or AUTHORIZED are far worse.

Hopefully you will be able to tell me how to get rid of this thing.

Sorry, that thing didn't come with Firefox or from Mozilla.

Without more information about that "add0on" I can't even start to search for a possible fix, since "Special Savings" seems to be a very common term from a Google search of same.

Maybe it is some form of Malware that would be recognized by the most popular ant-malware tools?

Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficacy.
(Not all programs detect the same Malware, so you may need to run them all to solve your problem.)
These programs are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.
Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.

May 28, 2012 Yes, very annoying. Here's what I did. Click "Tools"---then click "Add-on's",---then find and highlight "SpecialSavings",---then click "Disable". I havent checked mine yet, but I bet this does it. In Microsoft Explorer follow bascially the same root----"Tools", then "Manage Add-ons", then find Superfish (which is the same as SpecialSavings apparently), highlight it, then click Disable or (Disable All if you had to highlight two entries like I did). It might be in my Safari browser too, so I am about to check that out. I guess it is what is called an "Add on". At first I thought it was a "cookie" but I guess I am wrong. And I dont think its categorized as malware since its a legitimate, yet annoying, business.
