Hello- I am attempting to install a new e-mail account on Thunderbird. When I do, it says it Configuration Found at email provider, thus it found it successfully on the 3rd party server (NameCheap private e-mail service), but when I click "Done" blue button it fails with Error Creating Account. I've done this many times and still fails. I've attempted Advanced setup and it fails, and then Configure Manually and it doesn't respond. I know this is a good e-mail and I have done others successfully many times. Screenshot provided.

Thunderbird 'knows' some setups, but that is only what someone documented, and sometimes that changes. My suggestion is to delete the account, exit and restart Thunderbird, and then do the full setup manually, and omit the password during the setup, entering only later when prompted at first attempt to retrieve email.

It looks like the settings are correct:

but have you already created the required DNS records and mailbox?

Hey, thanks for the help. This is what solved the problem. David suggested I don't enter the password, and that was the trick. However, I actually had the system do it automatically (not manually) omitting password, and it all feel into line perfectly. Thereafter it asked me for the password which I entered, and then it created the folders automatically. A dream come true. One minor thing is that it seems to keep asking me the password for a few times even though I've already entered it and asked it to be saved. THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS HELPFUL TIP. ALSO, YOU WORK FAST; I DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT VERY LONG FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU!

Do you have any kind of password manager, either as a separate app or part of a security software? If so, exclude TB from its actions, as this could be why the passwords aren't stored in TB's passwords file (under Settings/Privacy & Security).

You're very welcome .
