Can't get rid of "Download the new Microsoft Edge" banner that keeps popping up in Firefox
How do I get rid of the "Download the new Microsoft Edge" banner that keeps popping up in Firefox? I have checked for solutions on the web and have already gone into Windows 10 settings and disabled the "Get notifications from apps" option, and unchecked the "Get tips, tricks and suggestions" box. That doesn’t help at all.
I am using Firefox 77.0.1 with Windows 10 Home, Version 1903. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1650

Hi PingoRay, does this appear at the bottom edge of the browser window when you view results on Bing? This is a delightful new feature of using Bing as your search engine.
If you click off the banner with the "Maybe later" link it should go away for a while; I don't know how long, because I use Google. Have you noticed how long it is before it comes back?
If you wanted to banish it permanently, you might have to consider using an add-on to block ads, or train the one you already use to recognize that banner as an unwanted ad. uBlock Origin might do the job (I haven't tested it myself). See: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
Alternately, if you want to consider alternatives to Bing, you can look at DuckDuckGo, for example. https://duckduckgo.com/

I used Ublock on it. So far, so good.
Jscher2000, It was as you suspected. The banner was appearing at the bottom of the screen on an irregular but too-often basis, and I was using Bing. And the problem disappeared when I used Google or DuckDuckGo. Very sneaky of Microsoft. I'll probably be using DuckDuckGo for the time being, and probably adding an ad-blocker. Thanks.
