Customize "Save File" Window on Linux
When saving a file using Firefox on Linux (Kubuntu 16.04 LTS), the Save File window looks like the attached image. My concern is about the area framed in a red rectangle, between the Name field and the folder view.
On Windows, it is possible to type the path to the desired download location in this area, but not on Linux. Is there any way to change this?
It is so much easier to type folder names (or simply copy and paste a location) than to have to scroll through lists of folders to be able to click on the right one.

- Click in the field with the title "Name:"
- Move the cursor in the very first position in front of the filename.
- Start typing. There is completion, i.e. if you type "/home/", you'll see subdirectories of /home after you typed the trailing slash.
- Tilde expansion is supported.

Thank you! Your solution does work, but when I select a directory name in the list, the cursor keeps returning to the beginning. It's really annoying!
