Hello again! I still have the same problem with the browser. I have recently installed Firefox version 50.1.0. Unfortunately, the problems with freezing of the browser (and forced reboot) has not disappeared, another one appeared related to the poor performance of Flash Player. Despite the fact that Flash is outdated, in Russia we have still many sites that rely on Flash. I have a question, rather a suggestion: why such a developed company like Mozilla is unable to create a player similar to Adobe Flash Player? And again, it would be possible to put a software engine as Google Chrome (much faster and more stable), and not to use that damn Gecko! And it seems that the constant updating of the browser is reduced to only updating the plugins and extensions and add different colorful themes, and about the deep, radical modernization and not talking.

Hi

Work is ongoing to make Firefox even better, with further enhancements to stability being planned for the new year. I recommend that you keep an eye on the Firefox blog for news and updates.

Mozilla is in the process of replacing Gecko in lieu of Servo. https://servo.org/

There are already too many WebKit / Blink based browsers out there, little point in creating yet another one. Google Chrome, Chromium, Safari, Opera, Vivaldi, Edge, etc.

Firefox updates are not done for Plugins, Extensions (vast majority hosted at addons.mozilla.org are third-party), and background image themes or complete ones. They are done for new features in major version and also for stability and security fixes. https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

The use of Flash Player has gone down and many sites have changed to using the HTML5 for the player in place of Flash Player. Big sites like Youtube uses HTML5 by default, Twitch.tv only uses HTML5 in browsers now for video and chat (since end of August?) and Facebook and Twitter is using HTML5 for video.

Chrome comes with its own Pepper Flash Player which is why there can be frequent updates on Chrome.

So you you think it will be a simple task to keep the UI of Firefox but swap out the rendering engine from Gecko to Blink.
