every time i use firefox for a net search i get redirected to another (various) search engine
when i use firefox these days for a net search (google) i get the list of results but if i click on any i just get redirected to another (various) search engine. the only way i can access the site i want is to enter the full web address. this has to be a security issues as these have to be pop ups & it worries me. i dont want to stop using firefox but if i have to remove it i will

Issues like that are an indication that you are infected with malware.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
