Add-ons
I download add-ons but can't get them to show up on the area to the right of the google search box. ABP and FVD are there but I can't get anything else in there.

Firstly, just note that not every add-on has a toolbar icon that can be added to the toolbar. There are some add-ons that don't require that feature, so the developer of the add-ons never add the button.
You can change the buttons that appear on the Firefox toolbar using the customize option that can be found in the Firefox menu. See Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars for more information.
My guess is that the buttons you are looking for are in the overflow menu. Firefox tries to save space on your toolbar by putting some of your add-on buttons in there. It will look like a button with two right arrows located directly left of the Firefox menu button. Once you have a certain number of toolbar buttons, add-on buttons that are added when an add-on is installed are automatically placed in the overflow menu.
You can change what's in the overflow menu using the customization feature referenced above.
Hope this helps.
Note that extensions also might not be enabled by default in Private Browsing mode.
I'm not using private browser. Thanks anyways.
Did the information I provided fix the issue?
No Wesley, I know it could have. I hit go back to default and now have nothing. This is what frustrates me about Firefox. I do thank you for trying.
