I've [literally] tried 6 different ZOOM add-ons, and NONE of them add a icon to the nav bar for settings, none of the settings can be accessed via Ctrl+Shift+A, and nothing changes in the user SETTINGS. In short, the add-on's install, but are completely unusable! Is this a Firefox update issue, or something to do with NoScript and/or AdBlocker Ultimate? Or perhaps the privacy settings in Firefox? Any help greatly appreciated!

Do you know that Firefox has a Zoom toolbar button in the Customize palette that you can drag to the Navigation Toolbar ?

Not helpful whatsoever. I have to zoom each and every page. What I want is the default zoom to be fixed at 140%. I use my laptop monitor (19") and dual monitor (30") side-by-side, and due to the size difference, anything on the laptop is excruciatingly small... Having to zoom each newly opened website is an unnecessary feat! Default zoom should be built into Firefox.
