The site is GoComics. I used to be able to open all the comics I follow that updated that day in new tabs. Since updating to 66.0.2 (32-bit), after I open over 10(?) or so tabs, I start getting error messages about the site not having a secure connection. I have to wait and start opening tabs later or only open up 10 tabs at a time. I have looked for a place to tell Firefox that this site is ok and that I am opening the tabs and haven't found a place to do that. I think, maybe, that Firefox is shutting down what it thinks is a site opening a bunch of tabs at once and that it might be an attack. I've also sent an email to the site as the error message said to do. No reply as of yet. Image attached.

The only problem here is if that is a login site that makes trouble shooting very hard to do unless another user has a login to access and test it on the site itself.

This might be a 'feature' on that server that doesn't allow to many requests at the same time to avoid somebody from preventing others to access the server. A server can on*network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server;6y handle that many connections at the same time and too many connections from one user can be seen as a DDOS effort and blocked automatically. There are "network.http" prefs on the about:config page to control access settings.

  • network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server = 6 (default)
