Firefox won't open on Mac despite trying everything I've read
Hi, I have a Mac 10.11.6 and for whatever reason I cannot get Firefox to open. I received a message at the bottom of my browser during the last use saying something to the effect of click restore/restart to improve speed. I did this and now Firefox will not open. I get a Mozilla crash reporter screen even when I try launching it in safe mode. I tried the refresh option (by holding shift + option on startup) and still get the crash report screen. I reinstalled it multiple times, tried deleting it and doing a clean install, deleted my profile and created a new one, and even deleted my anti virus program. Nothing seems to be working and I am very eager to get my preferred browser working again.
Thanks very much for your insight!

Locate and remove fbplugin (FaceBook plugin) from your system. It has been causing many crashes of late.

If you can't get Firefox to open, you will have to do this the hard way.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozillacrashreporter Open the file browser / explorer on your computer. Note: You may have to enable Show Hidden Folders / Files. Enter this in the address bar;
Windows: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted Win 7/Vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted Win XP/2000: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted
Mac OS: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports/submitted Linux: /home/<username>/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/submitted
Copy the most recent 5-7 File Names in the folder. Post the information in the reply box.

Geez, I definitely would not have figured that out on my own. Thank you very much FredMcD!
For others out there with this problem, with your hidden files shown in Finder, search "plugins," select the "Internet Plug-Ins" folder, and throw the fbplugin in the trash.
Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
