How can I add a url/userid/password?
I have a site that Firefox does not seem to recognize the userid and password that I use to enter the site. How can I get Firefox to recognize that I am entering a userid and password so Firefox can automatically enter them the next time a gop to the site?

Did it ask to accept any certificates? Or did you use adblocker that blocks cookies and that is why they blocked your access.
When I enter the userid and password, FF never asks me to save them. Is there a way to manually enter info into the saved password file?
There used to be the Save Password Editor extension to add this feature, but this extension is a Legacy extension and doesn't work. There is currently no API available to add this feature to the current Firefox release, so the answer is that it can't be done.
Can I somehow add a dummy entry and then edit it to what I want? There were some posts that I found that said to right click in a field and then save logon info. If I right click I do not get a save logon choice. How does FF determine that a page is a Login page? Field name search? How do I request that this facility be added into Firefox?
Please read these two support articles to learn how Firefox works as far as saving new Passwords / Logins. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-and-import https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/usernames-and-passwords-are-not-saved
And if Firefox is not asking about saving a new Login for a specific domain, perhaps you told Firefox "Never" save the Login for that domain? And if that is the case you need to "cancel that Never save".
I've seen cases reported where the Firefox Password Manager doesn't recognize the login form and doesn't offer to save the password.
Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required) where you encounter issues?
