New windows won't open in new tab
Greetings! I am having an issue with opening new windows (links) in new tabs on my new computer.
I have the "Open new windows in a new tab instead" box checked under options in the browser. I checked the "browser.link.open options for the new machine against the old one and immediately noticed that there was a new option listed:
browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction.override (value 3)
I also noticed that the value on browser.link.open_newwindow..restriction on the new machine was 3 while it was 2 on the old one but changing that value didn't fix the issue. I don't know if it i s because of the new option or not but that is where I stopped.
I am running the newest update of Firefox 54.0.1 (32 bit) on the new one as well as the old one and even though both are 64 bit machines I have never had any issues until now.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

First, when you're using about:config, you can reset those values to their current (Firefox 54) defaults using right-click > Reset. I would expect then that everything would match.
A possible exception is if you have a touch screen, Firefox is starting to have some different behaviors more suited to non-mouse users.
Could you try the three links on my test page here and let me know the results: https://jeffersonscher.com/res/popit.html
I'm not aware of a pref with the name browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction.override.
There is only browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction (0-2) and browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
