Firefox is telling me it is up to date, when it is not.
Read one article on this, but seemed focused on Windows XP and didn't see any solutions other then download the new version. I have done that once a few weeks ago, but it still won't update.
Problem: When check About Firefox, it tells me it is up to date (version 47.0.1). Site says version 48 available. Getting warnings from sites that Firefox is not up to date. I do have Firefox set to automatically install updates. Like it much better when downloads in background rather then me having to do it.

Do Not remove the profiles folder.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.
If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.
Not uncommon for the updates for Release to be disabled for a few days after Release. See Releases Scheduling
