Location of Thunderbird Address Book
I use three operating systems on my laptop computer - Windows Vista, Ubuntu installed on the Hard Drive, and Ubuntu installed on a USB memory-stick. I use Thunderbird for my email on all three operating systems. (I could explain why this is necessary, but that is irrelevant to the following questions.)
Where is the Thunderbird Address Book stored by default? Can I use the same Address Book file for all three operating systems?
Ideally, I would like all three operating systems to use an Address Book stored on the memory-stick, so that I could use it on other computers, and so that I could continually back it up with my data-auto-backup program. If this is not possible, then how do I import my contacts from the HD/ ubuntu/Thunderbird into the memory-stick /ubuntu/Thunderbird, and into the Windows Vista/Thunderbird?

Address Book components are stored in your profile in files with the mab extension.
Personal Address Book = abook.mab Collected Addresses = history.mab User-defined address books = abook#.mab where # is a numeric
I don't know of any way to detach these files from the profile, hence I can't tell you of any way to share the Address Book between multiple profiles. You might be able to do something clever with symlinks, softlinks or similar.
I use online calendars to synchronize my Address Books across my various Thunderbird installations on several machines.
I would like to know from Zenos the detail of how to use online calendars to synchronize the address books
