When I am drafting a new email, why doesn't the name automatically go in the "to" column when I am using addresses from my address book?
When I am sending a new email and adding the names in the "to" box, why doesn't the email automatically fill in from my address book when I start typing the name of the person? Sometimes the first one will automatically go in, but the next ones don't. Do I have to do something different with those??

When in the Write window, F9.
Or in the menu in the Write window, View|Contacts Sidebar
Or you can add a button for it to the Write window's Toolbar.

Do you hit return after the first one? Thunderbird's design requires one address per line to allow auto-completion to work.
Maybe you would like the Contacts Sidebar in the Write window, which lets you browse a list of your address book entries.
Do you have the autocomplete option ticked in Tools > Options > Composition > Addressing? Also, when you add the second address, are you trying to put it in the same 'to: ' field as the first -- i.e. two addresses separated by a comma?
I did not realize that you couldn't put more than one address on a line. That was my problem. THANKS!!
How do you get the Contacts sidebar??
