How do I add words to the suggested spelling in the spell checker?
I often use foreign-spelled words in text and the spell checker catches the "mis-spelled" version in English, but doesn't suggest the correct non-English spelling - for instance, if I put in "Niemoller" when writing something about Martin Niemöller (or his writings), it doesn't pick up the correct spelling of the last name.
How do I add the correctly spelled word to the list of suggestions? It would be a huge help in my research and work. (I wouldn't have to look up the correct spelling and copy-and-paste, or look up the key press combination to "insert" the correct letters as I don't use any single individual character enough to remember it.)

You can add words to the personal dictionary, but Firefox will only show that these word are misspelled and won't offer the correct word. Only words in the main dictionary are offered as possible alternatives. You would have to edit the dictionary file(s) that you use and add the words to that file to have them offered as a suggestion.
