How can I set the hstry to keep > 3 windows? Sometimes windows pop up behind the browsr, causing them to be the last ones I close- it forgets the main one!
Sometimes windows pop up behind the browser and I don't know about them, causing them to be the last ones I close. So Mozilla remembers them and it forgets the main window with all the tabs that I thought was being saved! The history button only remembers 3 and that's not enough in these cases.

If you wish to retain all the tabs for next time do not close down the Windows individually. Just minimise them if you need them out of the way.
When you close Firefox use use the Firefox menu to quit the Firefox program.
- Use New Button {three bar icon) -> Quit Firefox {off icon)
- also see Restore previous session - Configure when Firefox shows your most recent tabs and windows
You may wish to set Firefox to always start with last session. (That does not stop you clicking the home icon to open your home page, or set of pages, at any-time you wish)
I have Mozilla configured to block pop-up windows. How do I get it to block windows that pop up behind the window? It's really annoying to find them there after closing down the main window! Thanks, John!

Is it true that it only remembers 3 windows when it is set to start with previous windows and tabs? That's what mine is doing. Is there any way to configure it to remember more than 3 windows? When I go to the history tab at the top, the Recently Closed Windows only lists two windows, neither of which is the main window I am looking for. Thanks!
3 Windows I would not know if there is a limit, but it will not be three Windows. I have experimented with hundreds of tags and certainly got to over half a dozen Windows.
On Windows OS Firefox Release is a 32 bit browser at present and although that could potentially limit some things know that is not causing 3 Window limit.
Do you get any error messages ?
What happens
- If you just have 4 Windows each with just one tab the NewTab page ?
- If you try in Firefox's safemode
Pop-up Windows Behind What are these ? Are these links that you manaully open ? Or are they something rogue websites open, possibly containing adverts etc. ?
