Thumbnails on sites such as youtube do not show, it's just a blank square?
When i have youtube loaded all i see are blank squares where there is usually a thumbnail for a video, it's been going on for a while and it's only began to bug me recently as i'm trying to upload videos and watch others but i can't see thumbnails so it looks lifeless and i can't tell if my videos have a working thumbnail, i've looked all over but i can't find a fix, any help welcome.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
I had the same problem with Firefox 31.0 on Linux. After looking through various threads and a lot of non-working solutions I by chance stumbled across a solution myself (based on a hint on a similar problem).
Type as URL about:config Type image in the search field Change browser.display.show_image_placeholders to false
Now I can see all the thumbnails again instead of the black boxes.
