A couple days ago my husband was using the computer, and he somehow started secure browsing. I don't know how he did it either and i don't know how to get it turned off. Whenever I try to play a game on Facebook it tells me to temporarily turn foo secure browsing and it will go back to a secure connection when i go log back into the internet. This didn't start happening until two days ago.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I tried all of that and it didn't work. Do you have any other suggestions? Now because of this issue, certain apps on Facebook are not working.

If it's just a Facebook issue: Facebook has an option to always use HTTPS like gmail, Twitter etc. Many third-party apps that pull in content from ordinary HTTP may give the warning and not work.

How do I do that?

It would be 'Account Settings' and choose 'Security' on the left. Click 'Secure Browsing' (second one) and deselect it if selected.

Please note that even if this works or not it is a very very bad idea to use HTTP (insecure browsing) especially because this may involve your identity. Your username, password etc. could be seen and hijacked especially if you are connected to the internet via LAN or shared WIFi (hotspots etc.).

Did you mean "Secure browsing" or are you talking about Private Browsing?
