the pop-up blocker is ineffective
I have your pop-up blocker enabled and no exceptions, however it is totally ineffective. It does not block ads from showing up in websites I visit. Suffice to say this is much annoying as many of these ads if you happen to hover over them it takes you elsewhere and I don't want to go there. It is a waste of time and frustrating. Can you please create a true pop-up ad blocker and make it available to users of Firefox.
My OS is Windows XP3 Home and Firefox 6. Thanks

Pop-up Blocker blocks pop-up windows. Sometimes pop-up windows are ads, but not always. Some sites use pop-up windows for legitimate, functional purposes (displaying information about something on the page, for example; you can allow those sites to use pop-up windows and block all other sites). Ads on web pages are still displayed and not affected by Pop-up Blocker.

To block some advertising on web pages install this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
- After install and re-start, be sure to choose a filter list: https://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions
- I use Easy List (English) and Malware Domains (under Miscellaneous, near the bottom); works well for me.
