Firefox crashes entirely when trying to load video's on youtube.com
Since a week or 2 firefox crashes when I try to watch video's on youtube.
I can visit youtube, it only crashes when you visit the video pages, sometimes allowing me just to click the play button before it crashes. Firefox stops responding completely. Trying to close firefox only works thourh Taskbar.exe, and shutting down the process.
I have reinstalled Firefox I have reinstalled the Adobe Flash Plugin I have tried turning off all other plugins. I have tried running Firefox in safe-mode It still crashes. It does not occur in browers like Chrome and IE.

Extra information: Embedded youtube video's on other sites do not cause Firefox to crash.
i have exactly the same problem, hope that someone has a solution
I've exactly the same problem.
Very annoying! I used to use FF always, now I'm thinking about going back to IE.
Anyone who has a solution?
Thanks!
THIS SUCKS!!! PLEASE HELP :o OR ELSE I'M GOING BACK TO INTERNET EXPLORER YOU BUNCH OF F*CKING N00BS!!! I'M CRYING OUT LOUD! (COL). GOODBYE FIREFOX YOU DON'T RUN ANYMORE... GOODBYE.... COL
Yup, same here. It started happening to me also at around the same time as the OP.
The difference is that for me it will only crash if I fullscreen the video, and it will play for about 5 minutes then just freeze and I have to restart firefox.
Very annoying!
Same problem, but it's only when I log onto the Youtube homepage. Embedded videos, and linking from embedded videos to youtube work fine, I can even use search once I'm on the site.
But the homepage crashes Firefox.
I would like to add that during the crash, in the Task Manager it still says 'running'. But there is no way I could switch between the tabs. Therefore, the only way to close it, is by forcibly clicking 'end process' in Task Manager
Running Firefox 3.6.6

4.0 GB RAM
Win7-64-bit
Ok, so apparently a lot of people have exactly the same problem.
In my opinion this makes FF almost unusable.
It's nice that we talk about it here, but is there someone who can help? Can we contact someone? Is this a known problem?

Since there hasn't been any solution yet, I decided to downgrade to Firefox 3.5.9. It really was a last resort solution because I really believed in Firefox. The constant crashing became unbearable however since every site uses Flash nowadays.
Downgrading to firefox 3.5.9 does solve the problem.
I used the following guide: http://techdows.com/2010/01/how-to-downgrade-from-firefox-36-to.html
Hope this helps.
I will keep checking these forums to check if there is any solution or fix released and post it here.
Regards, Geert.
FF freezes when loading embeded youtube vids. does work in ie. oder flash vids do note cause any problems in ff.
Same problem. The youtube page loads, the video starts to load, the audio starts playing, the video might show one frame and then everything freezes. Sometimes the audio keeps running for a second or two, but for the most part, everything is frozen and the only way to close it is through Task Manager.
Firefox 3.6.6 Adobe Flash 10,1,53,64 Windows Vista
PS. The only plugin I have running is DownloadHelper. No one has complained about this problem on the DownloadHelper site as far as I can see though.
