This is soooooo annoying, please tell us how to stop it........
Closed firefox and opened Opera, problem soloved
ya I have the same problem, man it's annoying. Ya I guess Google tried to trick us and their coder messed up now it's on whenever we open Firefox. Google your taking over my life!
i thought my firefox is possesed!!! come on! how do you stop this sound???
I noticed the same issue this morning and i suspected it had to do with some of my installed plugins. Through trial and error i found that the plugin "CoolPreviews" is causing the problem so i deactivated for now. Well at least today i won't turn it on until tomorrow since i use google all the time.
Cheers.
If this is some kind of promotion exercise on the part of google, they are going to promote a lot of their clients to Bing!!
once again anon delivers. deactivate/uninstall the CoolPreviews addon to stop the sound.
me too - started on first login this morning, only on firefox, not IE or Chrome.
Bill is right, just deactivate or uninstall "CoolPreviews"
UNINSTALL COOL PREVIEW solves it!
ty Bill you saved the day XP
Yep i've unistalled the cool previews add on and the sound has gone :)
So just go onto add on's
uninstall
restart firefox
No sound :D
Yes I believe Cool Previews is the source of the problem, so disabling will definitely help. My apologies to Google underestimated their coders :) in my previous post.
same problem. started after installing norton internet security 2010 this AM
Disable cool preview add on , i did it and sound stopped.
I can confirm the Coolpreviews solution. But you have to disable the plug-in through the "tools" and "add-ons" menu, not via the coolpreview icon at the bottom.
What an annoying way to start the day! Disabling Cool Previews stopped it. I be uninstalling it permanently next restart.
I noticed it playing through my headphones(which were placed on the desk...fortunately) and couldn't figure out the cause at first.Since none of my open tabs were on Google,I was confused over where the sound was originating from. Then I opened Google and saw the doodle.
Strange that Chrome doesn't keep the sound playing in the background on other sites. It is irritating that I have to use Chrome at this moment even to access this page.
Disabled CoolPreviews and that stopped it for me too.
