Here's how to get back your tabs and windows from a previous session using the Firefox menu: 

   Click the menu button  to open the menu panel.
   Click History, then click Restore Previous Session.

That works. The problem is that FF does not save the result in a new sessionstore file. You have to repeat the procedure everytime you fire up FF. You can also use the Tab Session Manager. But again, you have to do it every time you start FF. I have no idea of have to fix this annoying problem.
