I open FF on new (installed FF and it was working for 2 days) win 11 desktop and it did not work. When I open it some stuff was missing so I shot it down and hit restart. That did not help so after trying a few things I uninstalled and reinstalled. On reinstalling I received message the code execution cannot proceed because vcruntime140_1.dll was not found. Followed instructions to go to MS and download 32bit+64bit to fix problem. I restarted and tried to reload FF again. The same problem happen again. So, I tried to reload 32+64 bit from MS, uninstalled and reinstalled. Tried to reload FF but getting same message. Probably uninstalled FF 5 or 6 times. Wondering if I screwed up win 11 system by uninstalling so many times. Have any ideas, getting tired of playing with FF.

Did you recently uninstall an application that was using this VCRUNTIME140_1.dll as that is a likely cause ?

You can check for issues caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation that is missing runtime components (Redistributable Packages) required by Firefox, especially VCRUNTIME140_1.dll.

See "Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022":

You may also have to install the Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable Package. You need to reboot the computer.

The problem started when FF would not work. It was installed on new desktop, and it was the 2 or 3 day that it did not work. It open but I was not able to do anything. This had happened in the past on different computer, so I just uninstalled shut computer and open to install again. This is when I receive the message about VCRUNTIME140_1.dll.

I had tried this twice and then found info on FF about installing redist 32,64. I followed the link to MS and d/l. I then ran redist 32 and installed. Then ran redist 64 and shut computer. Restarted computer and again tried to install FF but received same message. I will try again in a few minutes to see if it works or not.

PS: After I d/l redist 32,64 I just double click on the redist programs and installed. I believed that is way to install. If not let me know.

Would like to use new desktop with FF. Not using until FF fixed.
