Gmail emails shows downloading but do not appear in the inbox
Good morning... Thunderbird shows that emails are downloading. I can see the emails increasing in number. Also, at the bottom left corner is says: "Downloading message x of x ..."
I can clearly see that something is happening, but when I got to the inbox for that account, no new emails show. How do I fix this? Thanks all...

If you decide on a clean start, the easiest way is probably to create a new profile from Help/Troubleshooting, about:profiles, and add the account. The original profile is kept intact, and if the new one works, data from the original can be transferred to the new. Either profile can be run from about:profiles.

Do you have any filters on the Inbox, e.g. View/Threads is All, and there are no Quick Filter Bar pinned settings? There might also be a corrupted message in webmail blocking the download of other messages.
Thanks sfhowes... View/Threads is set to All, and I do not have any pinned Quick Filter Bar settings (I'm assuming that this is done by just clicking on one of the preprogrammed buttons)... I also looked at the link for "blocking the download of other messages" ... That one, I don't think applies to my particular situation, since I can actually see the messages downloading and increasing in number.
I've decided to backup what I have and start over... But this has been incredibly baffling to say the least... :o/ ... If you have any other suggestions please feel free to let me know. I can always try it in a Virtual environment.... because, frankly, I would like to know what is causing this... =)
Just a thought - do you have an invisible list ? If you select eg: Inbox folder because it should have a load of emails. Do you see all the usual column headers at the top of the Thread Pane eg: From, Subject, etc ? Click in the Thread Pane area where you would expect to see a list of emails, does an email open in the lower Message Pane? If yes, please try this: Click on the far right column header selection icon - it has a tooltip 'Select columns to display' A drop down selection appears - click on 'Restore Column Order'
