Sync IMAP folders work BUT no notification of new message unless clicking on folder
Hi,
Running Thunderbird 78.10.2 on Linux.
I use an IMAP mailbox. It connects well, no issue. I can see all remote subfolders.
My problem is : whenever new mails arrive and are automatically moved to a subfolder : Thunderbird seems not to be aware of it. The rules to move mails in subfolder are applied remotely on server. If I manually click on the subfolder : then only will it display that there are new messages in it.
(which is a problem : I have to know there are mails there to be made aware that there are mails there :) )
Strange thing : when I START thunderbird : it's fine. All new emails even i subfolders are notified.
But then, after automatic check or manually clicking on "Get Messages" ... then the subfolders are not notifying that they have new content.
Using only one extension (provider for google calendar). Did try to disable it : same behaviour.

To have all folders checked, toggle mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new to true in Config. editor.

Right-click a subfolder, Properties, check the box 'When getting new messages...'.
Trying this asap ! didn't see this. A global parameter would be nice.. but that will do if it works

Great ! thank you
One detail though about the documentation : it points to extensions to edit configuration ... none of which are available with latest version of TB. Not an issue but worth mentioning it. So maybe the global options don't really work either. But anyway I know where to look now.

Some of the mozillazine articles, like the official TB documentation, are not completely up to date. If you're referring to the Extra Folder Columns add-on, that feature is built into TB 78. Also, most userChrome.css is compatible with TB 78, except for possibly some minor syntax changes.
