Thunderbird is unable to access one of my gmail accounts while it accesses another gmail account without problems. Settings for both accounts are identical.
This is occurring on a HP ZBook Laptop. My MacBookPro cannot access the problem email account. Both accounts are accessible via the internet directly with the correct passwords.

The accounts may have identical settings in TB, but one may not work if the Google account settings are different. Are they POP or IMAP, and what is the authentication, OAuth2 or normal password? Is two-step verification on the account?
Thanks for the response. Both accounts are IMAP and both use OAuth2. I don’t think I’m using two-step verification — at least I don’t get an email or a text message with a numerical code to enter as a second step.
If you're using OAuth, it doesn't matter if you're using 2SV or not, or if access by 'less-secure apps' is on or off.
If you've changed passwords, make sure there are no obsolete entries in Tools/Options(Mac:Preferences)/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords. Better still, delete them all, restart TB, and enter the correct password when prompted at the next connection. The OAuth browser window should appear where you enter the account password.
