Ehen using thunderbird to retrieve and send email (from gmail account), if setting the security level as per google suggests, the email can’t be sent out! lower the security level can solve the problem, is that the only way to do so? any way to work with higher security level?

Change the authentication method in account settings to oauth. My information indicated that Google do not offer this for POP accounts. so you either use IMAP so they have all your mail or you choose the less secure app path. Personally I chose the latter.

It works OK for existing accounts but couldn't find a way to create a new one in Thdb, even with "application password" generated after changing the connection method to "2 levels".

Already submitted the issue on an other thread.

HI, I have set it to OAuth and still get an alarm by google each time I fire up TB (since last big TB update)...

Google asks me if I am the person (it says attempt came from my hometown, so sure was me) and if I got blocked ... but I get my mail, it is just annoying?

Thx Dan
