For several days now when I restart or shutdown my computer with firefox on, it automatically opens and goes to my previous pages on startup, how can I stop it from automatically opening, but keep my previous session when I choose open firefox? I'm using windows 10, and 62.0 Firefox, Also firefox does not show up on any lists for automatic startup

It may not be Firefox per-say. Are you using any kind of auto-start programs?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

No autostart programs from what I know, It doesn't happen in safemode, but it doesn't matter what sites I have in my tabs, Facebook, Gmail, even this site, if I restart with firefox open it'll open it when I start up. Malwarebtyes AdwCleaner TDSSkiller Windows Defender Advast are all showing up clean, and like I said, Firefox isn't on any lists for an autostart

I suggest contacting Windows support; https://support.microsoft.com http://answers.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/forum/windows_10

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that after looking around, and seeing that no one really has had the same issue, thanks anyway though.

Hi, remove Advast and see.

See if you have pushed it around in the Start Menu to Startup.

Firefox doesn't show up at all in it, only Java Update, Windows Defender, One Drive, HP Messaging Service are on it.

Also I've realized that even if I close all my tabs and have it on the Firefox Homepage, when I restart, it'll open to just that.

Also, I've uninstalled Avast (Sorry about the earlier spelling)

Very strange. 1 other had the same problem today, sent them off to answers.microsoft.com so there maybe a topic already opened.

What about Start Menu ( Startup Folder)

Note, if you do not use Java you do not need it installed. Only IE11 can use it.

If your beyond warranty, remove this also : HP Messaging Service or switch it to you starting it, or in Task Manager to start once a month.

Java is used for Minecraft mostly, and I've turned off the HP thing too. Thanks anyway!

Sorry about the double post, but I sort of found out what the problem was, It's Microsoft's auto reopen update for stuff that got closed when it restarts/shutdowns, They originally patched it to stop for some stuff, so I didn't even think about it, but now it's back again I guess, and now includes firefox on it.
