Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 29.0 r0.0 r0 by removing it with this tool : If you use it Reinstall with Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.134 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
Hi, what language is Firefox installed as ? Have you downloaded the language pack and then switched to it ? https://support.mozilla.org/kb/use-firefox-interface-other-languages-language-pack
I checked and Adobe reports installed Flash version "30.0.0".
I do not understand why Flash version, or indeed whether it is even installed or enabled, would affect Chinese input.
When you made the question you allowed to share info, the info shared shows : Shockwave Flash 29.0 r0 Thus you were told : Separate Security Issue,
Correct it has nothing to do with Chinese input as it is a : Separate Security Issue,
OK, I think I understand. I posted the question from another computer and not from the system I am trying to get Firefox to accept Chinese so the issue is moot. (It is a Win XP system and I believe it will not run newer versions of Flash.)
Getting back to the issue at hand, the system is Linux Mint in English and running Firefox in English.
I have installed the add-on "Chinese Simplified (zh-CN) Language Pack 61.0buildid20180704003137". It is installed but I do not know how to "switch to it".
In other programs I do not need to switch anything within the program. I just switch the input language by clicking the icon on the system tray and the program receives the input and interprets it as Chinese. Firefox seems to be the only one who does not interpret it correctly.
