I stream anime on my pc from a anime site and now all of a sudden i can not as there is some sort of pop-up window telling to download a video converter add-on
Ass the question suggests i stream anime from a site and now all of a sudden there is a pop-up on a new tab prompting me to download a video conversion tool add-on to fire fox for downloading and online vids. The pop-up suggests its in correspondence with fire fox. Is this a compulsarry download or not? A i obviously cannot watch anime now!!
Never use to be like this when i stream from that specific site, and its only for that site i get the pop-up! Obviously this is vexing and i hope fire fox is not becoming the next google where verification and personal info is needed for everything you do ( which is a blatent miss use of power and invasion of privacy)

Hi oom Daan !
Would it be possible for you to give us a link to that site and maybe provide us with a screenshot of that pop-up ?
If you need help to create a screenshot, please see :
How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
Thank you!
Hi there
Not that keen on giving a link to the site cause as of late a lot of torrent sites and streaming sites are being shut down du to the corporate sticklers controlling what we watch cant proffit of off them!! But i did post a snap of the pop-up screen!! Hope it helps??
Thank you!
Thank you for that screenshot - red flag !
That channel1.vids.com is bad news !
Go to the 3-bar menu => Addons => and look for any unfamiliar or suspicious looking extensions, like e.g.:
SafeSearch Incognito
SearchAssist Incognito
When you find any : remove them.
Do the same in Windows' Control Panel => Programs.
However : most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so
let's run malware scans :
Further information can be found in this article :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners.
They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.
Also : please, do not click on anything when you see those pop-ups !
Maybe you'd like to consider installing this add-on, which may help prevent this from happening again in the future :
