All inactive tab titles missing after Windows 10 Anniversary Update
I'm running FF 48.0.2 on Windows 10. After the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to version 1607, I found that all the inactive FF tabs are missing the tab titles, except for the current (active) tab. If I switch tabs, then the title for that tab shows up and the title for the previously active tab goes away. In other words, only the active tab has a title. This is not universally happening to all similar configurations, as I checked another system that just updated to version 1607, and it does not have the missing tab titles problem. Could anyone help me get the tab titles back? Thanks in advance for your help!
P.S. I noticed that when I click on the "X" to close FF, then while the confirmation window is visible, all the tab titles appear. If I click cancel on the confirmation window, the inactive tab titles disappear again.

Do you think this could be a problem of white text on a white background?
The scenario you mentioned of having a modal pop-up dialog active would put the whole window behind it in the background and cause Windows to apply the inactive window colors to its title bar. That could be creating more contrast between text and background.
I'm not sure of the best fix, but as a temporary workaround, you could try out a solid colored theme to see whether that provides more contrast. This page has examples, you can hover a patch of color to try it on:

jscher, thanks, it looks like you have identified the cause. When I hover over some of the sample themes in the link you provided, the titles did indeed re-appear. It shows a "last updated" date that seems to be around the date that my computer got the Anniversary update. It does seem odd that the default theme is to have a white font on a white background, though.

It's probably something the Firefox developers will need to tweak for that update, but I haven't checked on whether that is already in progress.
