My TB profile (old XP) is saved on USB and since I've used T'bird on a Win 8.1 but I want to combine the data without losing old settings or recent emails?

My old profile contains 10s of 1000s of emails and all my folder settings. My new profile on Win 8.1 contains about 10,000 emails but no folder settings. How do I combine the two on my new version without losing either my old of new emails and with importing my old folder settings and their email contents? Thanks.

It is always simple to move the old and replace the new. Combining is at best messy.

I suggest you install this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ Then use it to import your old mail folders into your new profile. In you use the import all messages from a directory > also it's sub directories you existing folder structure will be preserved, although it may well be one or two levels further down in the tree than it used to be.
