I used "Customize Firefox" to change which toolbars show, and now the Customize Firefox tab keeps on appearing no matter how many times I close it.

The Customize Firefox window and tab keeps popping open at seemingly random times. This keeps happening no matter how many times I close it.

Solution choisie

One possible reason is if it was added as a second "home tab" in which case it will show up in every new window (Ctrl+n) and anytime you click the Home button.

To check on that, you can use the Options page as described in this article: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

Look for a vertical bar character in the middle of the field separating two addresses. As a simple example with short URLs:

https://www.mozilla.org/|about:customizing

The bar definitely can be hard to spot with long URLs, but when you find it, delete everything to the right of the bar and then the bar itself (I suggest deleting the bar last so things don't accidentally get mushed together).

Was that it?

Yep, that was it. I wonder how that happened.
