Playback of voice mail mp3 does not play in google mail from Firefox, but will in Safari & Chrome

My phone service sends mp3's of voice messages to my email. I used to be able to play them back right from the email but now I have download it and play it with iTunes. I opened Page Info and was able to play the audio from there but could not find any way to ensure that it would play in the email. Is there any way to make this work again, or do I have to use another browser for email?

I looked at this in April and it seemed somewhat flaky at that time: How to stream mp3's in gmail?

I didn't realize it would play from the Page Info dialog; that's cool.

But... I have to confess I'm not confident how to troubleshot MPEG audio issues on Mac, so hopefully another volunteer will reply with suggestions for you.

Thanks for the input. I went to the page you linked to and found that MPEG audio works. Your description of the problem is the exact problem that I have.
