I have had a YouTube video for a homepage and Firefox has always gone to it until the latest update. Now Firefox changes the URL to all lowercase letters which breaks the YouTube link. I've gone in to try to put the correct upper and lower case letters back in, but Firefox just changes it all back after the next time it's closed.

A couple years ago, it was reported that the Norton Toolbar (or another Norton extension) caused this problem: https://community.norton.com/node/751403

Someone posted about a similar problem in February but did not report back on whether it was solved: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1046328

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Thanks, jscher2000! That was it! I thought it wasn't the Norton Toolbar because I was trying disabling things, but I didn't do things quite right. I was disabling the toolbar, re-entering the URL, then restarting Firefox to see if it worked, but I had to disable the toolbar, restart Firefox, and THEN re-enter the URL and restart Firefox to check if it worked.

FredMcD, that kind of helped. It showed that it wasn't a problem with Firefox itself. See jscher2000's answer and my reply to him. Thanks for the assist!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} is a first step in troubleshooting Firefox.

Glad the problem is solved. Safe surfing.
