grandson used computer and the address he put in browser will not delete. I have tried to restart computer, used delete button, backspaced, deleted browser history and cookies. It is still there. I can highlight it and type in another address, just can't get it to go away! I tried the uninstall but it is not helping either. This is the address that's stuck mygamesxp.com.

I'm not sure that I understand what is happening.

Do you see this URL in the location/address bar?

Is it directly in the location bar or does it appear an a choice in a drop-down list?

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar and search for prefs that refer to mygamesxp. You can reset user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value. You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Maybe also do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
