I do this daily, usually several times a day because there are a handful of cookies I must keep, the rest I want to delete. It worked beautifully in the past, but with FF39 it's not working. And with the new "tabbed" options page it is much slower to delete dozens of individual cookies than it was with the old popup options window. Please fix!!

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Check that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

I don't use private browsing, but I'll try deleting cookies.sqlite file as you suggest. Thanks!
