I switched web hosting from Dreamhost to Rackspace & need to know what to do so that...
I've changed my web hosting service from Dreamhost to Rackspace. I changed the domain name registrar info from Dreamhost name servers to Rackspace domain name servers (dns1.stabletransit.com & dns2.stabletransit.com). I've created a Thunderbird POP3 mail account to back up my IMAP messages. Now, I need my Thunderbird IMAP email account to operate properly with Rackspace. What do my IMAP settings need to be so that I have the same Thunderbird email services on Rackspace as I had with my email when I was hosted by Dreamhost? Thank you!!!!

Ok, at least you have a copy of all of those emails, but ideally, you need to put all the 'Dreamhost' emails into suitable folders in Local Folders account. Then you can remove/delete the pop and imap 'dreamhost' mail account.
Then create a new IMAP mail account to connect to Rackspace. Do not try to alter the existing IMap or pop mail accounts. File > New > Existing mail account or 3bar menu icon > New Messages > Existing mail account
the server names you mention do not sound correct. they are Rackspace DNS servers not your access via imap to your webserver.
Look at info here:
Hi: Thank you for your helpful feedback. I resolved the mail exchange issue you pointed out after confirming changes I made to my DNS settings w/ the domain registrar.
I still have my POP3 mail account as backup and have not done anything with it yet.
I'm able to receive email but cannot send. I've changed my Outgoing SMTP settings to smtp.emailsrvr.com, (Rackspace email setting config), on Port 25, although they have 3 other alternatives and I've tried all but one of them.
I can't think of anything that's out of sequence with any of this. Any thoughts?
Many thanks, John
I would try port 587
Quote from Rackspace help Port Checker Tool
You can use the Port Checker Tool to test your ability to connect to our email servers. This allows you to identify any ports that are being blocked by firewalls or other restrictions at your location.
re :I'm able to receive email but cannot send. do you get any pop up error message when you attempt to send? If yes, what error message ...word for word?
