Transfer email from runbox.com to Thunderbird
My ISP is: runbox.com. Have used it (for a 3-4 years, never had any problems. Email program: Thunderbird (since Eudora stopped and never had any problems)
Now, I ended up in the hospital for a long period of time and meanwhile my ISP subscription ran out. I have renewed my subscription now and have no problem with Runbox but I cannot get my email to Thunderbird.
Under Thunderbird Account Settings: Outgoing Server (SMTP): Runbox Mail – mail.runbox.com .
Is this correct?
Shouldn’t there be an Incoming too?
I would appreciate help how to get my email to Thunderbird. May I get the response by email or how to I find a response? [email protected]

Hi sfhowes, thank you so much. When I have done step 3 and clicked Done, I get the response: "Error Creating Account. Incoming server already exists." and that is as far as I get. What do I do now? Regards bmorner
Do you already have a runbox account set up in Tools/Account Settings? If you do, just change the settings to the ones stated in the help article.
Hi sfhowes, Sorry, due to illness I had to stop for a while. Responding to your answer Dec 5, my Thunderbird Tools/Account Settings doesn’t look like the help article Step 3? I must have misunderstood something? Britta Morner
Step 3 shows the account setup window, but if you already have an account entered in Tools/Account Settings, compare the settings there with the ones shown in Step 3, i.e. do you have mail.runbox.com on 993, SSL/TLS, etc.
Yes, I entered all that earlier even though it was already there. Seems to me that was step 3 but I can't find that page anymore. Now I get a different page without incoming, only outgoing. It is easy to get lost. Where can I go now and you know, I used Thunderbird for many years before I lost my subscription to Runbox. Britta Morner
The incoming settings are in the Server Settings section of Tools/Account Settings for the account. Step 3 only appears when you add an account to TB, starting from File/New/Existing Mail Account.
Thank you, that helped getting a little bit more organized in my mind but now my question remains. I have entered all these names and numbers as required and got the answer that account already exists, why don't I get my email to Thunderbird? Britta Morner
If the account already exists in Tools/Account Settings, there's no need to add it again. You will see that error if the Account Name is the same as the one you're trying to add. Give each one a distinct Account Name, not the default, which is the address. Account Name is shown when the account is selected in the left pane of Account Settings.
